Floating Museum Project
Os Patexeiros Maritime Cultural Association

What is the Floating Museum Project?
The Floating Museum Project of the Os Patexeiros Association is a cultural space dedicated to the recovery and promotion of the maritime culture of Sada and the Gulf of Ártabro. It already has an official concession of 300 m² of land area and 700 m² of water surface, where the ecomuseum will be developed.
The initiative combines a land-based exhibition area with a pontoon for traditional boats, which will not only be preserved but also actively used for navigation. The project highlights traditional maritime trades, especially boatbuilding (carpintería de ribeira), and promotes the transmission of maritime heritage to new generations.
In addition, training, cultural and outreach activities will be developed, including boatbuilding workshops and other initiatives linked to the sea. The aim is to create a living space, open to the public, offering cultural, educational and outreach activities.
In this way, it contributes to the social and tourist revitalisation of Sada, strengthening its maritime identity and promoting a sustainable model connected to the sea.
The technical project has already been completed through a fisheries development grant, and a landscape impact study has also been commissioned. Now only the final step remains: Let’s start building!
