​The Os Patexeiros Maritime Cultural Association is a non-profit organisation founded in 2009 in Sada, with the aim of recovering, preserving and promoting Galicia’s traditional maritime heritage. It was created through the initiative of a group of people committed to safeguarding maritime memory and traditional seafaring trades. Since then, it has worked on the restoration and promotion of traditional vessels, as well as on recovering techniques and knowledge related to navigation and life at sea.
Over the years, the association has developed courses in traditional boatbuilding, eco-regattas, exhibitions, outreach activities and other training initiatives. It actively participates in various maritime heritage events and was co-organiser of the 16th Galician Traditional Boats Gathering. Its work focuses on keeping this heritage alive and passing it on to new generations, helping to strengthen the maritime identity of Sada and its surroundings.
